Help to recruit locally with Jobs@SkillsHub
As a council we want to make it easy for employers to find the right people for their business. That's why we have created the free "Jobs@SkillsHub" service that will enable employers to tap into local talent. Our supportive team
can help you design and advertise your current vacancies to ensure you reach the most suitable candidates. In addition (if requested) we will help you sift your responses and prepare for interviews.
As times are changing fast we will also keep you updated about the latest incentives and training opportunities that may benefit your new and existing workforce.
Please click here and create an account to start advertising vacancies. You can also call our
friendly team to find out more about how Jobs@SkillsHub can help you future proof your workforce on 0191 580 6601. Alternatively, please complete our contact form here.
Access the Kickstart scheme to take on young people
Kickstart supports six month paid work placements for young people aged 16-24 years of age. It is available to any employer taking on a young person who is currently unemployed. For full details of Kickstart, visit the Government web pages.
Employers taking on 30 or more young people through the scheme can apply directly to the Government and could do so here. Organisations
looking to take on fewer placements must work with a Representative intermediary to apply on their behalf. We are working with the North of Tyne Combined Authority to do this for smaller employers in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
To find out more about the Kickstart Scheme in the North of Tyne, or to express your interest in working with the Combined Authority to be your Representative for your Kickstart placements, visit their Kickstart web page, or contact Kickstart email. Or you can complete this online form to register your interest with the Combined Authority directly.
Help for employees facing redundancy
